The ideas below are suggested activities and commitments for Musician of Sanctuary. * Signing the resolution and making a public pronouncement of support, this could be through a press release and/or a press conference.

  • Signing the Birmingham Declaration, petitions and letters of support for various asylum seeking campaigns and lobbying activities.
  • The musicians mentioning their support for sanctuary seekers at their gigs, etc. and having a TVoS stall or leaflets/posters on display and
  • available. Enabling a TVoS member to give a short speech on the TVoS work, aims and activities.
  • Inviting a sanctuary seeking musicians/singers to gig with them (even if only one song) or as a support act.
  • Allowing sanctuary seeking musicians/singers to record with them.
  • Providing support, advice and encouragement to sanctuary seeking musicians/singers on musical related matters.
  • Partaking in fundraising gigs either on their own or as a joint venture with other musicians 1 or 2 times a year.
  • Being available to support TVoS events or making a guest appearance.
  • Getting involved with other sanctuary streams, for example Schools of sanctuary, by attending school events.
  • Providing a signed photo or gift as a raffle prize.
  • Giving complimentary tickets for gigs to sanctuary seekers.
  • Being part of a sponsored activity for TVoS, i.e. a RED nose type stunt.
  • Forming a football team for the Justice First annual football tournament.
  • Being a named patron for TVoS.
  • …… Whatever else the musicians themselves are suggesting they would like to do.

The Musicians of sanctuary is an organic stream and is reflective of the dynamic artistic quality of its individuals and what they are prepared to do.
